Thank you all so much for making this the best Give Ozarks yet! Check back for a final today Friday afternoon.

UPDATE! 5/9/2017 11:29 pm

Just 30 minutes to go, what a great day! Keep those donations coming until midnight!

Kids should never go hungry

One in four children in the Ozarks may not know where their next meal will come from, and some end up going to bed hungry. Many children return to school Monday morning starving, having not eaten since Friday’s school lunch.

For just $8, you can provide six meals through Ozarks Food Harvest's Weekend Backpack Program to give hope and nourishment to a child over the weekend.

One school district administrator shared, “It is the most awesome feeling to be able to see the look on a child’s face when we give them some food. Just to think that a box of cereal makes a difference for a child, and it’s so small. We are so grateful to people who donate to Ozarks Food Harvest to help make a significant impact in the health and well-being of children.”

YOUR GIFT WILL MAKE A BIG IMPACT ON A CHILD'S LIFE

  • $8 will provide one child a backpack
  • $32 will sponsor a child for a month
  • $150 will sponsor a child for a semester
  • $300 will sponsor a child for a year

Ozarks Food Harvest's Weekend Backpack Program provides 60,000 food bags annually to kids in 60 schools across the Ozarks. The program ensures at-risk children receive bags filled with nutritious, easy-open meals.

"I AM THANKFUL FOR THE FOOD BAGS BECAUSE I CAN FEED MY LOVED ONES AND ME. WHEN I GET HUNGRY, I FEEL LIKE I AM GOING TO GET SICK," 8-YEAR-OLD DYLAN SHARED. "I DON'T HAVE THAT MUCH FOOD AT MY HOUSE. THANK YOU SO SO SO SO MUCH."

Unfortunately, the Backpack Program does not reach all of the 70,000 food insecure children living in the Ozarks. School officials continue to request additional bags, which is why we need your support!

Pipkin Middle School principal Becky Ash said, “We are so thankful for Ozarks Food Harvest because you all are the ones who are truly meeting our kids’ basic needs. We have lots of resources here at Pipkin that can support the academic side for our students, but they aren’t going to be ready to learn until their basic needs are met, so therefore, we’re so thankful for the Backpack Program.”

Join us in the fight against hunger and help give hope to children in the Ozarks.
