GIVE OZARKS 2017
The Lake Arts Council serves an area where 60% of the children fall below the poverty line. Our Give Ozarks 2017 goal is to provide a unique cultural experience for as many of these children as possible. We ask you to buy a ticket for one of these underprivileged kids and an accompanying adult to a performance of the Missouri Symphony Orchestra, also known as the Missouri Pops.
We have made arrangements to offer tickets to children in foster care in Camden, Laclede, Miller, Morgan, and Moniteau Counties, plus those involved with Kids Harbor and the Child Advocacy programs.
Under the baton of Kirk Trevor, music director and conductor, the Missouri Symphony Orchestra brings together over 50 world-class musicians for six weeks and 20 performances. It has been the Lake Arts Council’s privilege to host them for one of their few performances outside Columbia each year for well over a decade.
The program includes popular show tunes, Classical selections, pop numbers and usually ends with a Sousa march. At one point in the program the Maestro enjoys inviting members of the audience to replace him on the podium. The children in the audience revel in getting their turn with the baton to lead the orchestra.
The performance will be held on June 10, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at School of the Osage Cummings Auditorium, Hwy. 42, Osage Beach, MO. Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for children. Many of these children are in difficult circumstances and would never have the opportunity to have such a cultural experience. You have the power to change that. A donation of just $25 can enrich one young life and open the door to a lifetime of appreciation of good music.
Matching funds are available for the first twenty-five donors. Double the power of your donation by giving now.
