Reeds Spring Community Property Fund is dedicated to restoring the WPA (Work Progress Administration 1936) building which served as the Reeds Spring school for many years.
The WPA structure has been acquired by the city of Reeds Spring, and its location and historical character makes it an asset with potential to serve the surrounding area as a Regional Community Center.
The restored structure will enable private and public events, improved access to care and community health workers, collaborative initiatives that address child & family safety, a children's library, Wi-Fi media room and the Reeds Spring Hall of Fame, and can be reserved in advance for family events, club activities, meetings, etc.
The gymnasium and stage will be available for youth sports, performing arts, concerts and more.
This beautiful historic structure, with the stone quarried nearby, the lumber sawed by local sawmills and labor provided by members of the Reeds Spring community will be a wonderful benefit to the Reeds Spring area. Being one of the oldest and best preserved buildings in Reeds Spring makes the WPA building a source of pride for our community.
